About us

AHIA was created in 1994 targeting all Hindi and Punjabi speaking Indians in New South Wales.  It now caters to all Indians. 

It has broad based objectives and activities.  AHIA is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organisation and has the following objectives:
- Promote Hindi Language
- Organise cultural activities and functions
- Promote social and welfare activities
- Promote awareness of Indian traditions.

Over the past 20 years it has pioneered a number of new events and activities for example Diwali & Holi functions, sports and picnics days and Bollywood Dance competitions etc. , It has a very active  seniors forum with regular monthly meetings and outings etc.

AHIA has over 220 life members and 60 annual members.  AHIA is an incorporated body and works in accordance with the Rules by the Fair Trading Department. 

We have just celebrated 20 years of AHIA.
